As the temps are finally becoming cooler and more fall-like, I am loving every second of of what finally feels like fall has arrived! Fall is my fave time of year with the cool, crisp mornings, leaves scattered everywhere, cozy sweaters, ankle booties, and of course pumpkin spice EVERYTHING! Nothing makes me feel more like fall has arrived than planting mums and picking out pumpkins for the front porch, lighting a pumpkin candle and getting out the fall décor. I love decorating from my front door and all throughout the house, but decorating on a budget is my jam!
First off, I come up with the colors that I plan to keep going from room to room so that if I want to mix things up it all is interchangeable. I pretty much always stick to white as my base and this year I added a pale green with the tiniest pop of orange here and there. I’m a Target girl through and through so naturally I started by hitting up the Dollar Spot at Target and boy did they deliver this year!!! Now, this time of year the pickings can be slim but I was determined to find some new, cute stuff so I hit up a couple of Targets until I was satisfied with my finds (don’t tell my hubby- he thinks I go on enough Target runs as it is).
I grouped most of these little cuties together for the center piece on our dining room table to make an eye-catching arrangement and mixed in some of my décor from previous years to fill it in. In my opinion, all things go with black and white, especially buffalo check so that is the constant throughout most of my house no matter what season it is and this one is no exception.
For the rest of the house I kept it fairly simple and minimal, mainly because I can’t stand clutter (and it’s less to dust around) but also because it spreads it out and makes it go further. I did make a run here and there to Hobby Lobby for faux fall plants and leaves and cute fall inspired signs but for the most part I used what I found at Target. I mixed in some of my old décor with my everyday décor and was able to get just the feel I wanted for Fall without breaking the bank!
I hope that this was helpful and that your fall is one filled with cozy everything, pumpkin spice lattes (if they’re your thing like they are mine), firepits with friends, and snuggling with loved ones on cool fall nights.
