Fall is here and decorating with pumpkins and gourds is in full effect at our house! Decorating the front porch for fall is one of my fave things to do this time of year but those pumpkins and gourds aren’t cheap so I certainly want them to last as long as possible. I ran across this little trick to making your pumpkins last longer and you’ll want to do it too!
There's not much to it, all you have to do is get your pumpkins and gourds home safely and give them a bath- yep, that’s right, it’s that simple! You'll want to wash them with your favorite dish soap and water. Scrub the surface of each one with a soft brush and remove all the dirt.
Be sure to dry them off really well and you’re done!
Cleaning the dirt off of them slows down the rotting proces and keeps them looking great all season long. It’s a quick and easy trick but it is sure to extend the life of your precious pumpkins and gourds!
I'm usually an all white pumpkin kinda gal but this year I am loving the muted orange and green colors mixed in with my whites!!!
I hope that you found this little tip to be helpful and that it keeps your pumpkins and gourds looking great all season long!
