November Decor

Hi guys!

For some reason this simple little post/ mini home tour showing you how I decorate- or actually don't decorate during the month of November- has taken me forever to post! If you follow me on Instagram then you have probably heard me say that between Halloween and Christmas I like to keep our home very simple and free of extras. There's no real reason as to why I do this, I think it just gives me time to reset, allows us to enjoy fall and Thanksgiving and I'm sure there's a little bit of me just being lazy in there too lol! Not to worry tho, I will be filling your feed with all things Christmas in no time. Until then, I wanted to share a little bit of our home with you and what it looks like this time of year.

Super simple you guys, and cheap! I pack up all the pumpkins and replace them with a few wintery touches that feel cozy and warm to me. I love how this simple white bowl filled with pinecones makes for the perfect center piece. I got a big bag of cinnamon scented pinecones at Bed Bath & Beyond last year and they still smell amazing when I got them out this year!

Baskets!!! I think almost everyone has baskets laying around somewhere in their home that could be repurposed as quick and easy wall decor. I had these two babies shoved in my Monica closet (for all of you Friend's lovers out there- you know what I'm talking about). If you aren't familiar... it's the closet that I don't ever want anyone to see because it's where I toss all things that don't currently have a home. Yep- I have "junk drawers" and closets just like you guys and I don't plan on getting rid of them anytime soon :).

You may have seen this photo posted to IG, but this is just a simple way that I clear out areas in our house in order to start fresh. It's like spring cleaning, but in the fall. I like to donate regularly to an organization that's local to the KC, MO area called Ozanam. They will come right to your home and pick up your donations right from your front door step! I typically do this once a month and it keeps all the unnecessary extra stuff that we have sitting around at a minimum and allows us to donate it to others who need it and will put it to good use.

More pinecone centerpieces... I'm telling ya guys, quick and easy and just feels like November to me! I am working on our Thanksgiving tablescape that I will be sharing with you later this upcoming week and I'm almost certain this is going to remain the centerpiece because I love the low height that allows our guests to easily see each other and converse without looking around something tall and distracting.

Here's the zoomed out version of what our dining room currently looks like without all the fall pumpkins. I did really love the fall decor but this simpler version feels much more like Thanksgiving to me. I could be wrong, but I think that black and white buffalo plaid goes with all decor and can be used year round. It's probably safe to say that it's here to stay in our home for a while!

This gives you a quick view of some other areas of our home and how they are currently styled. For me, simple is key and it also means less to clean around- cuz who has time to dust- amiright!?!

Well, this is where we'll end this little November home decor tour. I literally used only things that I found around the house and just relocated them. I love the way it all came together and felt so effortless but cozy. I hope you enjoyed this little tour. I'd love to see how you do Thanksgiving decor in your home! Have a great weekend buddies- thanks for stopping by!
